Overview:

You are a small, lowly part of a computer system. Your job, day in and day out, is to execute pre-determined programs by connecting electron beams to their targets.

This is your life: Solving the same identical programs for eternity.

...Or is there a way to break free? Perhaps if you could short out the programs by forcing them into infinite loops...

A Bug In The Code is a puzzle game where you rearrange blocks, re-direct lasers, and defy your all-seeing system overlord. Each puzzle can be solved in one of two ways: The easy way that satisfies your programming, or the hard way that destroys the system itself. The actions you take unlock new dialog as you progress.

Controls:

  • Move with W,A,S,D
  • Blocks can be pushed
  • Blocks can be rotated by clicking on them while next to them (or facing them and pressing R)

Notes:

  • Created for GMTK Game Jam 2025.
  • Music and SFX are from assets packs, I did not create them.
  • Some of the VFX particles are also from an asset pack. The rest of the art is mine.

Oh yeah, very fun! Nice polish for such a jam game!
Love the end of level effect (when you make a loop)

The difficulty scaled real fast, in my opinion. Found myself having trouble pretty quick. Could be me and could just be that balance take a while.

Great game!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm aware that difficulty scales too quickly, I didn't have time to create a proper level ramp to ease you into it.
